Gala	• Pink color, mildly sweet flavor• Excellent for fresh eating and salads• Available starting late August
Cortland	• Softer apple with slightly tart taste• Excellent for eating, salads, applesauce, pies, and baking• Good for freezing• Available starting around Labor Day
Red Delicious	• Red in color, signature knobby base• Very sweet taste, excellent for eating and salads• Available starting mid-September
Golden Delicious	• Yellow in color, sweet taste• Excellent for eating, salads, applesauce• Good for pies, baking and freezing• Available starting mid-September
Staymared	• Red in color, tart taste• Excellent for pies and applesauce• Available starting late September
Rome	• Red in color, semi-sweet taste• Very hard apple, good for baked apples• Available starting late September
